Cubeb Pepper

Cubeb is a plant that comes from the Piperaceae family, with the scientific name Piper cubeba. This plant originates and is widely grown in Java and Sumatra, so it is also known as “Java pepper”, although java pepper is the name for other spices (P. retrofractum and P. longum) which are still similar. Cubeb has long been used by some people as a drug for inflammation of the mucous membranes, asthma medication, medication for dysentery and other stomach ailments, and a drug for gonorrhea.
